content
The horse trainer Pablo Betart ( Greg Serano ) meets 18-year-old Kris Furillo ( Genevieve Cortese ), who was convicted of car theft , as part of a rehabilitation program at a juvenile prison. Pablo immediately recognizes her unusual talent in handling the horses and so he persuades his boss Jean Ritter ( Nana Visitor ) to take Kris into the Raintree Farm after his arrest . Raintree faces economic troubles as Jean's ex-husband has drained the farm financially because of its gambling debts.
As soon as she is on Raintree, Jeans 'son Matthew (Micah Alberti) and his childhood friend Kenneth Walter Davis Jr., called Junior (Ryan Sypek), start a competition for Kris' favor. Junior's father Ken ( James Read ), the boss of the competing “Davis Farm”, and his sister Danielle (Nicole Tubiola) in particular did not receive this competition with goodwill. In Dani's case, this is mainly due to her jealousy, because her brother now has all of her father's attention again and because she was once with Matt herself.
At first, however, Kris only had eyes for Wildfire, a particularly spirited stallion, to whom her heart belonged from the very first moment.

roll
- Kristin "Kris" Furillo ( Genevieve Cortese )
Kris spent some time in juvenile detention at Camp LaGrange Juvenile Detention Center for aggravated car theft. Here she learned to ride. She has a special connection to Wildfire, a horse that she saved from the butcher and helped turn him into a racehorse. She later falls in love with Junior, whom she has previously rejected many times. The relationship between the two, however, breaks up because Junior had poached Tina Sharp, the jockey who was supposed to start for Raintree in the Sandpiper race. Although Kris couldn't win the Sandpiper race, she becomes aware of Kerry Connelly. She makes him her manager. A relationship develops between the two. But instead of making Kris happy, he takes the money from Kris and Raintree and wants to leave. However, he crashes in the plane and is arrested when he is released from the hospital. Between this event and the tenth episode of the third season, there are always kisses between Kris and Junior. In the tenth episode of the third season, Kris and Matt become a couple, which is very hurtful to Junior. Kris enters an illegal horse race to enter the Kentucky Derby and loses her racing license because the racing committee learns about the race. Kris leaves Raintree and lives in a motel in Colorado for a few months. When Matt tries to get her back, she makes it clear to him that the relationship is over. When she learns that Junior is in love with someone else, she is very unhappy. When Matt tells her that Wildfire is getting worse and worse, she secretly decides to return. At the end of the series, she marries Junior, whom she has always loved more than anyone else she was with.
- Danielle "Dani" Davis ( Nicole Tubiola )
Daughter of Ken Davis, Sen. and younger half-sister of Junior. Dani previously owned her own racing team. After her father was charged with forging accounts, she took over the majority stake in Davis Farm. Dani very much wishes to get love from her father. She was only really loved by bull rider RJ Blake. He died after being taken by the horns by a bull. After losing her racing license when she took responsibility for an illegal race, she turned her back on her father and Davis Farm and set up an equine clinic. There her vet, Dr. Noah Gleason in it. Dani doesn't want a steady relationship because she hasn't got over RJ's death yet. So Noah quits because he can't stand to be around Dani knowing that there will never be a relationship.
- Jean Ritter ( Nana Visitor )
She is Matt and Todd's mother and the co-owner of Raintree Farm. Jean is a mentor and often a mother figure for Kris. She often clashed with Kris and her son Matt over Wildfire's training and running the Raintree Farm.

He moved to Davis Farm, only to return to Raintree Farm later.
- Matthew "Matt" Ritter ( Micah Alberti )
The eldest son of Jean and Todd's older brother. He and his mother each inherited half of Raintree Farm when his grandfather Henry Ritter (Jean's father) died. At an early age, Matt wanted nothing to do with family business, horses and horse racing. He later discovered his talent for training and conditioning thoroughbred horses and became Raintree's head trainer.
- Kenneth "Ken" Bretford Davis, Sr. ( James Read )
Father of Dani and Junior. He made Davis Farms one of the top performing racing teams in the country. He lost control of the farm when he was charged with six fraud cases, which prompted him to transfer the farm and its assets to his children. In a series of events he lost his majority stake in the farm to Dani. After being cleared of all ads, he bought back 46% of Davis Farm.
- Kenneth Walter Davis "Junior" ( Ryan Sypek )
Son and namesake of Ken and older half-brother of Dani. He once owned a nightclub but bet it on his former bookmaker, Bobby. He also tried professional bull riding. Junior steadfastly refuses to take over the farm business, even when his father insists. And even when Junior tries his best to break the stereotype of the “rich child”, he loves his Porsche convertible.
- Todd Ritter ( Andrew Hoeft )
The eccentric and beyond his age intelligent son of Jean and Matt's younger brother. He's in high school and lives on Raintree Farm.
- Gillian Parsons ( Charlotte Salt )
A wealthy heir and a member of the racing committee. She was a silent partner and co-owner of Davis Farm with Dani Davis until she sold her shares to a third-party company which she didn't know is owned by Ken Davis, Sr..
