Wilhelm Kromer

Wilhelm Krömer (born April 30, 1939 in Jössen ( Minden district ); † July 23, 2017 ) was a German local politician ( CDU ). From October 1, 1999 to April 30, 2007, he was the district administrator of the East Westphalian district of Minden-Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Wilhelm Krömer graduated from the 1955 high school with high school high school and began an apprenticeship as a farmer . After successfully completing his apprenticeship, he attended the agricultural college from 1958 to 1960 . From 1961 to 1972 he was managing director of the purchasing and sales cooperative in what was then the municipality of Jössen. From 1972 to 1973 he was a consultant at the Diakonisches Werk in Minden and from 1974 to 1990 its deputy managing director .

Wilhelm Krömer was married and has three children. He died on July 23, 2017 at the age of 78.

Until the territorial reform in 1973, he was a member of the CDU council of Jössen. From 1973 to 1999 Wilhelm Krömer was a member of the Petershagen City Council . From 1990 to 1999 he represented the constituency of Minden in the state parliament in Düsseldorf as a member of the state parliament ; he was elected via the CDU state list.

Public offices

From 1969 to 1973 he was mayor of what was then Jössen. After the regional reform, Wilhelm Krömer was elected mayor of the city of Petershagen in 1973. He held this honorary position until 1994, after which he was deputy mayor until 1999. From 1973 to 1999 he was mayor of Petershagen- Jössen , and he held this honorary position again from January 2008 to 2014.

In 1999, Krömer surprisingly won the election against the previous district administrator Heinrich Borcherding (SPD) and thus became the first full-time district administrator in the Minden-Lübbecke district to be directly elected by the population. In 2004 he was re-elected in the local elections in the first ballot with an absolute majority of 53.7%.

On April 30, 2007, he entered forced retirement when he reached the age limit of 68 for central administrative officials . Ralf Niermann (SPD) was elected as his successor .
