Jössen is a district of the city of Petershagen in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

geography

Centrally located in Petershagen located adjacent Jössen the east by the districts Gorspen-Vahlsen and Ilse , north to Windheim , the west by the Weser separated at core city Petershagen , and on the south by the district Lahde . Due to the Weser in the west and the lock canal in the east, Jössen and Windheim became an island.

history

Until the municipal reorganization on 1 January 1973 and was Jössen km² an independent municipality with a total of around 5.65 331 inhabitants (31 December 1972) and belonged to the Office Windheim to Lahde in Minden . Jössen had 382 inhabitants on December 31, 2008.

politics

The population of Jössen has been represented to the council and administration of the city of Petershagen since 1973 by a mayor who is elected by the council of the city of Petershagen on the basis of the election results.

Kerstin Henn has resigned as local mayor of the village of Jössen, currently Wilhelm Korte is the mayor of Jössen.

Culture and sights

The stork's nest is a must-see and also the trademark of Jössen.

The Jössen cultural community coordinates the dates of the numerous Jössen associations.

Economy and Infrastructure

The agriculture of the place is shown, among other things, in the free-range husbandry of pigs, which you can inspect on the so-called pig meadow. Each pig family has a small hut and free exercise.

Jössen is west of the federal highway 482 .
