The village of Gorspen-Vahlsen is located in the town of Petershagen , which is part of the Minden-Lübbecke mill district in East Westphalia .

Gorspen-Vahlsen consists of the two very old districts of Gorspen and Vahlsen from the much larger Loh. The place is east of the core city . In the east Gorspen-Vahlsen borders on the district of Ilserheide , in the north on Ilse , in the west on the districts Jössen and Lahde and in the south on the district Bierde .

history

Gorspen-Vahlsen was first mentioned in a document in 1269.

Until the municipal reorganization on 1 January 1973 Gorspen-Vahlsen and was km² an independent municipality with a total of around 3.93 721 inhabitants (31 December 1972) and belonged to the Office Windheim to Lahde in Minden . At the same time, street names were introduced after new houses and farmsteads were simply numbered consecutively. Gorspen-Vahlsen had 834 inhabitants on December 31, 2008.

The population of Gorspen-Vahlsen has been represented to the council and administration of the city of Petershagen since 1973 by a local mayor, who is elected by the council of the city of Petershagen on the basis of the election results.
