Maaslingen is a district of Petershagen in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

geography

It is located northwest of the core city ; in the east Maaslingen borders on Eldagsen , in the north on the district of Nienburg in Lower Saxony , in the west on Meßlingen and in the south on Meßlingen and the district of Kernstadt.

The village is a scattered settlement and therefore does not have a real center; the center of the village can be described as the sports field . Maaslingen is located directly on the mill route . The river Ösper crosses the village in the direction of Petershagen, where it flows into the Weser .

history

Until the municipal reorganization on 1 January 1973 and was Maas Lingen an independent municipality square kilometers with a total of around 6.02 517 inhabitants (31 December 1972) and belonged to the Office Peter Hagen in Minden . On December 31, 2008, Maaslingen had 425 inhabitants.

politics

The local mayor is Heike Schwier (CDU).

Culture and sights

There is a cultural community that Ev. Frauenhilfe (evening group), the Kyffhäuserkommadschaft and a pigeon club "Ösperbote Maaslingen".

The SC Rot-Weiß Maaslingen has made Maaslingen known far beyond the city limits as a long-standing national soccer team. In 2007 Rot-Weiß Maaslingen became national league champion in season 1 and was the first club in the city of Petershagen to be promoted to the Westphalia league .

Economy and Infrastructure

Since 1935 there has been a fire fighting group of the volunteer fire brigade in Maaslingen.

The B61, which runs east of Maaslingen, can be reached via the L770 to the south, just like the Petershagen city center.
