Wilhelm Peter Jost von Weymarn ( Russian Пётр Фёдорович Веймарн ; born January 14, 1793 in Rösarhof ; † May 10, 1846 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian lieutenant general and member of the Nicholas General Staff Academy in St. Petersburg .

Career

After finishing school, Wilhelm Jost joined a cadet corps to train officers . As a second lieutenant , he joined in 1812 into the Imperial Russian Army and was on duty in an infantry - Regiment and was 1813 to lieutenant promoted. In 1812 he was used in the Battle of Borodino and was injured. In 1813 he was used in the battle of Bautzen and in combat operations in Hochkirch . In 1814 he was in action in the storming of Reims and in the battle of Montmartre . From 1816 he served as a captain in the Semyonovskoye Bodyguard Regiment and then in the Finnish Guard Regiment. He then stood by General Diebitsch in Mogilev (Belarus) as an adjutant . In 1821 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and commanded the 1st Maritime Regiment in the Estonian port city of Pernau . The promotion to colonel took place in 1823, in 1825 he took over command of the 1st training regiment in Saint Petersburg. From 1828 to 1829 he was deputy chief of staff in the guards who remained in Saint Petersburg . This was followed by the appointment of a wing adjutant ; this was followed, during the November uprising in Poland in 1830, the use as a staff officer with special duties at the chief of staff of the Guard Corps. In 1831 he was promoted to major general and took over the post of chief of staff of the Guard Corps. He served as his majesty's adjutant from 1834 to 1840. Then he was promoted to lieutenant general and took over the position of deputy inspector on the main staff. From 1842 to 1846 he was the curator of the Medical and Surgical Academy in Saint Petersburg .

The noble family Weymarn (Russian Веймарн / old. Ваймарн) is originally a German family. At the end of the 17th century, members of the family moved to Livonia , and since then the family has referred to itself as German-Baltic. His grandfather was the Oesel country marshal Hermann Gustav von Weymarn (1717–1771), his father was Matthias Friedrich von Weymarn (1751–1822), who was married to Katharina Dorothea von Haak (1764–1826). Wilhelm Peter married Cristina Augusta Anna von Lüder (1803–1887) in 1822 , descendants:
