Wilhelm Rahn (born July 6, 1880 in Worms , † December 2, 1966 in Lauterbach ) was Lord Mayor of Worms from 1924 to 1933 .

Life

As the son of the Gießen high school professor Hermann Rahn and Emilie Wagner , Rahn studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Hessische Ludwigs-Universität . In 1900 he became active in the Corps Starkenburgia . When he was inactive, he moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

After completing his studies, he entered the civil service of the Grand Duchy of Hesse , but was initially on leave as a government assessor for Prince Isenburg's rent chamber in Birstein . He later settled down as a lawyer in Worms, where he entered the municipal administration career in 1912 as a city administrator. 1919 Assistant and 1924 Mayor of the City. Rahn was a member of the German People's Party (DVP) . On August 16, 1933, Rahn resigned from his post after being deliberately exposed by the NSDAP's city ​​council .

In his role as Lord Mayor, he was also the second chairman of the Hessian Association of Cities and the Hessian Savings Banks and Giro Association, first chairman of the supervisory board of Elektrizitätswerk Rheinhessen AG and Rhenania Wormser Lagerhaus- und Speditions-AG .
