Günter Kuhfuß

Günter Friedrich Kuhfuß (born January 31, 1926 in Dortmund ; † February 2, 2001 in Mainz ) was a German lawyer and local politician ( SPD ). He was city ​​director of the city of Duderstadt , chief district director of the district of Osterode am Harz and mayor of the city of Worms .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Dortmund, he completed an apprenticeship as a senior service in financial administration. Labor service, military service and imprisonment followed. 1946-49 he attended grammar school in Schwerte and passed the Abitur examination there in 1949. He then studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster law and with a scholarship to the Sorbonne in Paris and at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer. He finished his studies by taking the first and second state exams and in 1956 with his doctorate in both rights . After brief activities with a lawyer in France and as a lawyer at the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association , he was elected cross-party city ​​director of the city of Duderstadt in 1959 and took up this position on April 1, 1959. In 1962, Kuhfuß was elected chief district director of the district of Osterode am Harz.

In 1967 the bipartisan election as Lord Mayor of the city of Worms on the Rhine took place. During his tenure, he managed to set up various large industrial companies in Worms as well as the construction of numerous school centers and the new city ​​hospital on the Hochheimer Höhe. In addition, the incorporation of the city of Pfeddersheim and the communities of Abenheim, Heppenheim an der Wiese, Ibersheim, Rheindürkheim and Wiesoppenheim also fell during this period. In 1968 he established the twinning with the French city of Auxerre . He deepened the town twinning with St Albans , Great Britain, and initiated the initiation of the town twinning with Mobile , Alabama in 1976 . Kuhfuss held the office of mayor until November 29, 1977.

After retiring from active service as a municipal civil servant, Kuhfuss devoted himself to teaching at various universities, including the Worms University of Applied Sciences and the European Business School . In addition, he worked for five years as managing director at the Research Association for Applied Natural Sciences (FGAN) in Wachtberg near Bonn. From 1991–93 he worked as a local advisor to the Thuringian state government in the rebuilding of the Thuringian local government, then he held a similar position in Dresden.

Günter Kuhfuß was the great-great-grandson of the writer and songwriter Hermann Adam von Kamp from Mülheim an der Ruhr.
