Wilkenstorf ( Low German Wilkensdörp ) is a village in the district Tripkau the municipality Amt Neuhaus in Lower Saxony .

The place is three kilometers east of Hitzacker on the opposite bank of the Elbe in the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve .

history

For the year 1848 it is stated that Wilkenstorf had 16 residential buildings in which 148 residents lived. At that time the place was parish to Tripkau, the school was in the place. On December 1, 1910, Wilkenstorf in the Bleckede district had 438 inhabitants. As part of the territorial changes in Mecklenburg , Wilkenstorf was incorporated into Tripkau on July 1, 1950. After German reunification , the place moved on June 30, 1993 from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to Lower Saxony in the district of Lüneburg . On October 1, 1993, Tripkau was incorporated with Wilkenstorf into the municipality of Amt Neuhaus.
