Wiltrud Fuchs

Wiltrud Fuchs (born January 31, 1945 in Heidelberg ) is a German church musician.

Fuchs studied organ as a concert subject with Michael Schneider , harpsichord with Hugo Ruf as well as school and church music at the Cologne University of Music . As a DAAD scholarship holder , she continued her studies with Fernando Germani and Anton Heiller . In 1970 she was a prizewinner at the International Organ Week in Nuremberg . From 1971 to 1972 she was a church musician at the Christ Church in Düsseldorf before she worked from 1973 to 1977 as a lecturer for choir and orchestra conducting at the Universidad Austral de Chile and as a church musician at the Iglesia Evangélica Luterana en Chile . In Chile she was awarded the Premio de la Critica. From 1977 she worked as the successor of Hartmut Schmidt at the Matthäikirche in Düsseldorf . In 1989 she was appointed church music director at the City Church of St. Marien Osnabrück . Here she founded an ensemble on historical instruments "La Gioia". As a lecturer, she taught at the University of Osnabrück and the Folkwang University in Essen . In 2006 she was awarded the Art Prize of the Osnabrück Land Landscape Association . Concert tours led her a. a. through South America, the USA, Russia and China. She played radio recordings a. a. for WDR and Radio Bremen . In retirement she studied Sinology in Cologne and teaches in Beijing and Taiwan. She lives in Weimar .
