It is dammed up from Boysen Dam to a reservoir, the Boysen Reservoir ; both are located in Boysen State Park . Then it flows through the Wind River Canyon and reaches 5 km south of Thermopolis replace Wedding of the Waters , from which the river then the Bighorn River is called.
