Episodes

Episode 1: horse thieves

The Kiowas tribe attacked the Mescaleros , the noble Winnetous tribe , and stole their best horses. The Mescaleros medicine man seeks revenge. But old Kitechonga, a white man who is venerated by the Indians as their father, urges reconciliation with the Kiowas; even more so since he doesn't have much longer to live. His successor, announces Kitechonga, will also be pale-faced, recognizable by a special symbol: three acorns. Now a surveyor by the name of Charly is currently working for the railway company and he is actually wearing a bracelet with three acorns embroidered on it.

Episode 2: The Iron Way

Against the contract between the railway company and Indians, Bancroft wants to ruthlessly run the railway across the Apache region. Surveyor Charly refuses to continue working for Bancroft under these circumstances. In revenge, the devious ratter loosens the brake pads on the car with the surveying device; the car rolls at high speed into the Apache region. Charly jumps on Rattler's horse and sprints after the car, no sooner has he stopped the car than it falls into the hands of the Apaches. Winnetou sees the bracelet with the acorns, remembers the prophecy and wants to give Charly the freedom, but then his warriors recognize the horse as one of theirs. Winnetou has Charly captured.

Episode 3: Trapped

Mr. White shows up on behalf of the railway company. He should keep an eye on Bancroft and Rattler. What bad luck that all the papers that show how the two of them manage their own pockets are in the saddle bag of the horse, which is now in the hands of the Apaches along with Charly, alias Old Shatterhand . In the meantime, Old Shatterhand discovers the papers and promises Winnetou to solve the matter and turn the fraudsters over to them. Old Shatterhand is set free and has until sunset to deliver on his promise. In his search for Old Shatterhand and his saddlebag, Rattler meets the Kiowas, which he immediately harnesses for his own purposes. But Old Shatterhand has already posed and overwhelmed Bancroft in the company's office - actively supported by loyal Sam Hawkens .

Episode 4: Treason

The Apaches are waiting for Old Shatterhand at the Blue Rock. There they are attacked and overwhelmed by the Kiowas - in the service of Rattlers. Rattler feverishly searches for his saddle bag with the incriminating papers. He threatens to shoot Winnetou if the bag is not given to him immediately. Kitechonga throws himself in between, and, dying, hands the bag to Rattler. Sam Hawkens and Old Shatterhand are on the way to the Blue Rock with Bancroft. They are ambushed by Rattler and his people, but are able to escape.

Episode 5: A lock of hair

Bancroft escapes. Old Shatterhand offers Tangua , the chief of the Kiowas, a decisive battle against his bravest warrior. If he - Old Shatterhand - wins, the captured Apaches should be released. Before the fight, Old Shatterhand manages to secretly free Intschu tschuna and Winnetou from the torture stake . As evidence of his act, he cuts off a lock of Winnetou's hair. The two have no idea who released them.

Episode 6: Wrong Maps

Old Shatterhand wins the knife fight against the Kiowa warrior Matau. Tangua must release the Apaches. The president of the railway company can hardly believe it, his surveying engineer Charly is said to be behind the scams. But he lets a search for Old Shatterhand to confront him. This conversation, in turn, is overheard by Dick Stone and Will Parker, friends of Sam Hawkens, who immediately set off to stand by their buddy and Old Shatterhand. Bancroft and Rattler are shocked to find that the forged maps have disappeared. When Cleopatra, the white mouse and favorite of Sam Hawkens, crawls out of the saddlebag, they know who the clever thief was.

Episode 7: Sun Dance

On the way to the Apaches, Sam Hawkens and Old Shatterhand are ambushed by the Kiowas. With the help of Dick Stone and Will Parker, they put the Indians to flight. Meanwhile, the people on the railroad are arming themselves against an impending attack by the Apaches. Tangua is caught stealing horses in the city . He is released on the condition that the Kiowas fight the Apaches. Old Shatterhand and his companions are received almost hostile by the Apaches. The wise Kitechonga is dead and the martial medicine man is in charge. In a bloody war dance, the sun dance, he stimulates his tribe to fight.

Episode 8: Assault

Winnetou wants to compete with Old Shatterhand in an honest fight. Mr. White wants to protect the railway construction under all circumstances and therefore allies himself with the Kiowas. While the fight between the railroad workers and the Apaches is in full swing, Rattler and Bancroft knock down Mr. White and burn the booth over his head. Old Shatterhand and Sam Hawkens rescue the unconscious from the flames at the last minute. In doing so, Sam finds his beloved mouse Cleopatra, who happily slips into his pocket.

Episode 9: At the torture stake

The Apaches win the battle and capture the pale faces. Lovingly nursed back to health by Winnetou's sister Nscho-chi , Old Shatterhand is said to die with the other pale faces on the torture stake. Tangua and his warriors are pardoned. He gives the stolen horses back to the Apaches and adds a few bison skins as a present. Old Shatterhand tries to convince Winnetou that he and his friends are brothers of the Apaches. But Winnetou remains tough and listens to the implacable medicine man.

Episode 10: Brothers

Winnetou doubts whether Old Shatterhand is really a traitor. A judgment of God , a swimming competition between Old Shatterhand and the Intschu tschuna armed with a tomahawk , should decide. Old Shatterhand reaches the bank unscathed - they are free, except for Rattler, the killer Kitechongas. But he is also committed to him. The murderer should not be spared, but the Indians may “make short work” of him and not torture him any further. Bancroft is also being brought to justice. The proof for the liberation of Winnetou on the torture stake of the Kiowas, the lock of hair, convinced Winnetou completely. Charly and he drink blood brotherhood at the rushing waterfall, from which Kitechonga's voice urges Apaches and pale faces to come to peace.
