Vyacheslav Hlaskow (English spelling Vyacheslav Glazkov , born October 15, 1984 in Luhansk , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian boxer . Hlaskow was runner-up in 2007 world champion and Olympic bronze medalist from Beijing 2008 super heavyweight.

Vyachelsav Hlaskow comes from Luhansk and started boxing there as a teenager. He was or is trained by EA Menschakow and OO Orlanow. His first success at an international championship he was able to achieve at the European Junior Championships 2003 in Warsaw , where he reached 3rd place in the heavyweight division behind Yevgeni Romanow from Russia and Plamen Nedjalkow from Bulgaria .

In 2004 he had another great success when he won the heavyweight title at the World Student Championship in Antalya . In the final he defeated the world class boxer Elçin Əlizadə from Azerbaijan . He could not qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in Athens that same year.

Since 2005 Vyacheslav Hlaskow starts a weight class higher, in the super heavyweight division. In this weight class he also took part in the 2005 World Cup in Mianyang / China , where he finished 9th after defeating Jaroslavas Jakšto from Lithuania and losing points in the round of 16 against eventual world champion Odlanier Solis from Cuba (11:26). He took the same place at the 2006 European Championships in Plovdiv . He won there against Aljaksandr Apanassjonak from Belarus on points (31:21) and lost, again in the round of 16, against Kubrat Pulew from Bulgaria on points (11:28).

Vyacheslav Hlaskow presented himself in excellent form at the 2007 World Cup in Chicago . He won there over Răzvan Cojanu from Romania by breaking off in the second round, then clearly defeated Oscar Rivas from Colombia on points (23: 7), again defeated Jasolavas Jaksto and won the points in the semifinals over Zhang Zhilei from China (21:11). In the final battle he faced the experienced Italian Roberto Cammarelle , against whom he lost quite clearly on points (14:24). But winning the silver medal at this world championship was a great success for him.

Vyacheslav Hlaskow confirmed his good form at the Gebr. Klitschko tournament in Kiev at the end of May 2008 . He won in Kiev over the PanAm champion and 2008 Olympic starter Robert Alfonso on points and beat Jauhenij Lyachowez from Belarus on points. Only in the final fight he had to accept a point defeat against world champion Roberto Cammarelle (7:15). At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , Hlaskow had to give up the tournament due to an elbow injury after he had already achieved the bronze medal.

In 2009 Hlaskow decided to switch to the professional field and so far (as of September 2012) he has played twelve fights, all of which he was able to win, nine of them by knockout.
