Wolf-Dieter Beyer (born December 18, 1938 in Halle ; † October 13, 2019 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and from 1990 to 2004 a member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Dieter Beyer attended primary school in Beesenstedt and secondary school in Halle and Worbis . He completed a degree in mechanical engineering specializing in theoretical and applied mechanics in Magdeburg in 1963. From 1964 to 1968 he worked as a car development engineer at VEB Bremsenwerk Limbach-Oberfrohna, from 1968 to 1972 as technical manager at PGH Fahrzeugdienst Limbach-Oberfrohna , after its nationalization to VEB Bremsbelag from 1972 to 1981 as its operations director. From 1983 he worked as a self-employed mechanical engineer.

Dieter Beyer was a Protestant, married and had three children.

politics

Dieter Beyer became politically active for the first time during the fall of the Berlin Wall and joined the democratic awakening in November 1989 . There he was district chairman and member of the federal board. From April to September 1990 he was general secretary of the party. After the merger with the CDU, he was a member of the CDU state executive committee for Saxony. In the state elections in Saxony in 1990 he was elected to the state parliament in October 1990 for the constituency of Chemnitz 4 , then constituency 62, with a constituency result of 41.3%. In the 1994 and 1999 elections he was able to defend his constituency Chemnitz 4, then constituency 15. In 2004 he left the state parliament.

Wolf-Dieter Beyer was a member of the advisory board of the Federal Commissioner for the Records of the State Security Service of the former German Democratic Republic .

Honors

On May 15, 2010 he was awarded the Saxon Constitutional Medal by the President of the State Parliament Matthias Rößler .
