Wolf Dietrich (director)

Wolf Dietrich (* 1931 in Linz ) is an Austrian film director .

Life

Wolf Dietrich passed the Matura in his hometown , then studied world economics as well as theater studies , art history and acting in Vienna . Between 1955 and 1960 he worked as an actor in Vienna , and from 1957 he had an engagement at the Theater in der Josefstadt . At the beginning of the 1960s, Dietrich turned to directing and from 1961 onwards he was responsible for formats of various genres for around 40 years as a director, including well-known series such as Ein Fall für Mannli , Drei Damen vom Grill , Praxis Bülowbogen and Die Anrheiner . Under his leadership, four episodes of the crime series Tatort were created around Munich's chief detective Melchior Veigl , played by Gustl Bayrhammer .
