Wolf Point is a city in the US state of Montana , United States and the administrative seat of Roosevelt County . It is the largest site on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, home to Indians of the Assiniboine and Sioux tribes . The Wild Horse Stampede, the oldest rodeo in Montana, takes place in Wolf Point every year on the second weekend in July .
geography
Wolf Point is located in northeast Montana in the High Plains . The metropolitan area has a size of 2.3 km² and is located on the north bank of the Missouri River within a wide, flat valley.
About 6 miles southeast of the city is the historic Lewis and Clark Bridge , also known as Wolf Point Bridge. It was built in 1930 as a link between Roosevelt County and McCone County over the Missouri River. The bridge has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1997 .
In 2010 the population was 2621.
Infrastructure
Wolf Point owns LM Clayton Airport, from which there are daily direct flights to Billings and Glasgow (Montana) .
The US Highway 2 , one in west-east direction across the north of the USA Bled Highway , connects Wolf Point with other cities of the state of Washington to Michigan . The Montana Highway 13, which leads to Canada , can also be reached via the Montana Highway 25 in an easterly direction .
Grain is transported from Wolf Point to the Pacific coast and the Great Lakes via the BNSF Railway . Furthermore, the place is on the route of the Empire Builder , a long-distance train from Amtrak .

Due to the semi-arid climate , winters in Wolf Point are usually cold and dry, while summers are hot. On average, it rains the most in the period from late spring to early summer. Warm, wet air masses that can flow into the area from the south and east are responsible for the high temperatures in summer .
