history

The place is already documented as Wutschen in 1390 and 1414 (in Marchfutterurbar ) , with 5 Urhöfe. The name is likely to a person's name Wutsch back with possible Slavic root, possibly the High Middle grubbing manager (similar perhaps Wutschdorf in Wildon). As a result, there are all sorts of corruptions such as Wutschenn  (1466), Waldthschun  (1620), Wollschön  (1643), Welschein  (1670), Putschan  (1785), before the spelling Wuschan is officially written down. The five original farms, whose farm names are mentioned for the first time in 1542, formed the village until 1784, two more old farms can be found in Höll , which was initially called Greith ' cleared area '.

Wuschan belonged to the Neuschloß rule , to the municipality of Pöls since the creation of the local parishes in 1850 , to Zwaring-Pöls from 1968 , and since the municipal structural reform in Styria in 2015 it has belonged to Dobl-Zwaring .
