Yūzō Kanemaru

Yūzō Kanemaru ( Japanese 金丸 祐 三 , Kanemaru Yūzō; born September 18, 1987 in Takatsuki ) is a Japanese sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

In 2005 he was disqualified at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki with the Japanese team in the run-up to the 4-by-400-meter relay . At the Asian Athletics Championships, he won the individual competition and the Japanese relay.

At the Athletics World Cup in Athens in 2006 , he came in seventh place with the Asian 4 x 400 meter relay. In 2007 he did not reach the finish line at the World Championships in Osaka over 400 m.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he was eliminated over 400 m in the preliminary run.

In 2009 he won the 400 m at the Universiade in Belgrade , but did not get past the first round at the World Championships in Berlin . At the Asian Championships he won silver in the individual and gold in the relay competition.

In the following year, a seventh place over 400 m at the Athletics Continental Cup 2010 in Split followed, silver medals over 400 m and in the 4 x 400 m relay at the Asian Games in Guangzhou . In 2011 he won bronze in the individual and relay competitions at the Asian Championships and reached the semi-finals at the World Cup in Daegu over 400 m.

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 he was eliminated over 400 m and in the 4 x 400 meter relay in the preliminary run.

In 2013 he won bronze in the 400 m and silver in the 4 x 400 m relay at the Asian Championships and made it to the semi-finals again at the World Cup in Moscow .

In 2014, the Japanese relay at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Sopot failed in the preliminary round. At the Continental Cup in Marrakech he was eighth over 400 m, and at the Asian Games in Incheon he won the Japanese relay.

In 2015 he won bronze in the relay competition at the Asian Championships. At the World Championships in Beijing, he came over 400 m and in the 4 x 400 meter relay did not go beyond the first round.

He set his personal best of 45.16 s on May 9, 2009 in Osaka .
