Yasser Ayyash (born December 4, 1955 in Schatana near Irbid , Jordan , also Yaser Rasmi Hanna Al-Ayyash) is a Jordanian Archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church and Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem.

The young Yasser Ayyash attended the school of Greek Catholics in his hometown of Shatana. He later continued his education in Beit Sahour and in Bethlehem , where he obtained his university entrance qualification . He studied theology and biblical studies in Lebanon and completed his studies in Rome with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. In 1983 he was ordained a deacon in Rome and was ordained a priest on July 12, 1987 in Amman . This was followed by a longer period of use in parishes and schools in the capital Amman and in Gerasa .

The 2007 Melkite Synod elected Yasser Ayyash Archbishop of Petra and Philadelphia on June 21, 2007 . He was the first native Jordanian on this bishopric and successor to the Lebanese Georges El-Murr . The episcopal ordination was on October 13, 2007 by Archbishop Gregor III. Laham BS , the Patriarch of Antioch , and the co-consecrators Archbishop Georges El-Murr BC of Petra and Philadelphia and Joseph Absi SMSP , auxiliary bishop in the Patriarchate of Antioch , completed.

In October 2010 he took part in the special assembly of the Synod of Bishops in Rome as delegated bishop of the Melkites of Jordan . Regarding the situation of the Church in the Middle East , he highlighted the comparatively good situation of the Eastern Churches in Jordan and explained that churches, schools and other facilities could be built in Jordan. He regretted the emigration of many Christians and called for a deepening of the interreligious dialogue in the Middle East.

Pope Francis accepted his resignation as Archbishop of Petra and Philadelphia on April 14, 2015.

Ayyash was elected Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem on February 9, 2018.
