Yevgeni "Yoni" Kniter (born July 28, 1982 ) is an Israeli ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Maccabi Metulla Eggenbreggers in the Israeli ice hockey league since 2011 .

Career

Kniter began his career in Haifa with the local Hawks , for whom he initially played in the Israeli ice hockey league until 2005 . After two years with HC Metulla , he returned to the port city on the Mediterranean in 2007 and won the Israeli championship with the Hawks in 2008 by beating HC Metulla 4-2 in the final, to which he then switched again for the coming season. After two fourth places in 2008 and 2009, he and the team from Israel's northernmost community also won the national championship title in 2011, when defending champion Monfort Ma'alot was defeated 5-1 in the final . He then moved to local rivals Maccabi Metulla Eggenbreggers , with whom he won his third Israeli championship title in the first year with a 2-1 final win against the Icebergs Bat Yam .

International

In the junior division, Kniter played at the U18-D European Championship in 1998 and the U18 World Championship in 1999 and 2000 , where he played with Israel in the European Division II.

For the men's national team , Kniter took part in Division I at the 2006 World Cup , in Division II at the 2005 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 World Cups, and in Division III at the World Cup 2011 part. He was also on the ice for Israel in qualifying for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
