course

The Ygyatta rises at a height of 440  m on the Wiljuiplateau belonging to the eastern part of the Central Siberian mountainous region . It flows through the plateau in a predominantly south-easterly direction in a mostly narrow, rocky valley. In sections where the river Trapp formations breaks, have rapids trained. In the lower reaches, the Ygyatta reaches the Central Yakutian Lowlands , begins to meander more strongly and flows in a westerly direction to its confluence with the Lena tributary Wiljui, a good 50 km southwest of the small town of Njurba . The Ygyatta is less than 100 meters wide and about a meter deep near the mouth, and the flow velocity is 0.3 m / s.

The Ygyatta flows along its entire length through the territory of the autonomous Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) .

Hydrology

The catchment area of the Ygyatta covers 11,200 km². The most important tributary is the 134 km long Jertjukjan from the left.

The Ygyatta freezes between the first half of October and the second half of May. The mean discharge is 30 m³ / s.

Use and infrastructure

The Ygyatta is not navigable.

The area through which it flows is only sparsely populated. About 30 km from the source away is the administrative settlement Aichal imputed village Morkoka River (river of the same Morkoka River ) in Ulus ( Rajon ) Mirny with 103 inhabitants (2001). The trunk road that connects Lensk an der Lena over almost 750 km with the Yakut diamond mining areas around Mirny , Aichal and Udatschny runs through Morkoka . In the Ulussen (Rajons) Njurba and Suntar, between which the Ygyatta marks the border over long stretches, there are no villages near the river to the lower reaches. About 60 km above the estuary is the only village directly on the river, the village of Miljake. Like the village of Ygyatta named after the river, located a little below the mouth on the left bank of the Wiljui, it belongs to the Nasleg (municipality) Tjubjai-Scharchanski with its center in the village of Arylach on the far right bank of the Ygyatta, also a few kilometers below it Muzzle. There are no paved roads in this area to the left of the Wiljui, while Arylach has a connection to the trunk road that runs past the Wiljui a little further to the east.
