The Wiljuiplateau ( Russian Вилюйское плато ) is a low mountain range up to 962 m high in the Central Siberian mountainous region in Siberia or Russia on the border of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Krasnoyarsk region and the Irkutsk Oblast ( Asia ).

Geographical location
The Wiljuiplateau is one of the central parts of the Central Siberian mountain range and extends on both sides of the Arctic Circle . It is located in particular on the upper reaches of the eponymous Wiljui and consists of a core area of around 400 by 200 km. To the northwest of the hill country manages to putorana plateau over, north to Anabarplateau , to the east it falls gradually to the vast Unterlauftal the Lena and to the southeast in the Mitteljakutische valley , and to the south it passes the Lena Plateau over.
Waters
The Wiljuiplateau is the source and flow area of many rivers - including: Daldyn , Marcha , Morkoka , Olenjok , Wiljui and Ygyatta . There are also numerous lakes and reservoirs - such as the Wiljui reservoir (2,360 km²; 40.4 km³).
Locations and infrastructure
In Wiljuiplateau and in the transition area to the Lena Plateau , among others, these are towns : Almazny , Chordogoi , Ekonda , Mirny , Swetly , Sologonzy , Chernyshevsky and udachny . The A331 Wiljui trunk road leads over parts of the plateau .
Geology, flora and climate
From a geological point of view, the Wiljui Plateau is made up of Precambrian metamorphic rocks and early Paleozoic rocks; in addition to limestone, there are also Trapp and dolomite . In the area of the Wiljuiplateau, the permafrost reaches its greatest thickness worldwide at 1500 m.
In the high areas the vegetation of tundra and forest tundra spreads , on the slopes the taiga with sparsely thriving larches and in the river valleys there are grass and meadow landscapes . The climate is strongly continental with hard winters.
