Economy and Infrastructure

The main branch of the economy is the extraction of diamonds from soap deposits in the Ireljach river valley with the help of three special large, semi-stationary dredges (Russian: draga ).

Almazny is on the road A331 Vilyuy River , which today connects Mirny and the villages on the middle Vilyuy River with the Republic capital Yakutsk, but with the possible inclusion of the road from Mirny to Lensk at the middle Lena as a connection to the südsibirische road network in the Irkutsk Oblast to be expanded . Six kilometers west of the town branches off the Anabar highway , which leads to the northern diamond mining area around Aichal and Udatschny and is to be extended to the rivers Olenjok and Anabar in the extreme northwest of the Sakha Republic .
