Saskylach ( Russian Саскыла́х ; Yakut Сааскылаах ) is a village (selo) in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) in Russia with 2317 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

The place is about 1300 km as the crow flies northwest of the republic capital Yakutsk on the right bank of the Anabar .

Saskylach is the administrative center of Ulus Anabarski and the seat and only locality of the rural community (selskoje posselenije) Saskylachski nazionalny nasleg with a high proportion of Evenk inhabitants.

history

The place was built in the 1930s as the administrative headquarters for the 1930 founded Ulus ( Rajon ) and center of the Soviet targeted authorities sedentarisation predominantly in the field nomadic survivors Yakuts , Evenki and Dolgan .

Saskylach is not connected to the year-round road network, but can only be reached via a winter slope from Udatschny, over 600 km south, via Olenjok , which continues down the Anabar to Jurjung-Chaja . The expansion of this section to the Anabar street is planned.

A few kilometers south of the village there is a small airport on the right bank of the Anabar ( ICAO code UERS ).
