Yuliy Sannikov

Yuliy Sannikov ( Ukrainian Юлій Санніков , German transcription Julij Sannikov ; born November 3, 1978 ) is a Ukrainian economist and professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business .

Life

Sannikov graduated from the Sevastopol School of Fine Arts in 1994 . He received his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Princeton University in 2000 and his PhD in Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2004 with Robert B. Wilson and Andrzej Skrzypacz . He was an assistant professor at the University of California, Berkeley from 2004 to 2008 and at New York University from 2006 to 2008 . From 2008 to 2016 he was a professor at Princeton University and since 2016 professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In 2007 he was an associate visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and from 2011 to 2014 he was visiting professor at Harvard University .

At the International Mathematical Olympiad he was awarded three gold medals in 1994–96. In 2015 he was awarded the American Finance Association's Fischer Black Prize. The following year he received the John Bates Clark Medal from the American Economic Association for his contributions to game theory , contract theory , the design of securities , the study of market microstructures, and macroeconomics with frictions . In 2017 he was elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society .
