Yusuf Songoka

Yusuf Songoka (born February 5, 1979 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

Life

In 2002 he won the CPC Loop The Hague . The following year he was there second and sixth at the World Half Marathon Championships in Vilamoura , where he won silver with the Kenyan team.

In 2005 he switched to the full distance and finished eighth in the Rotterdam Marathon and sixth in the Las Vegas Marathon . In 2006 there was fourth place in the Xiamen Marathon and the Eindhoven Marathon , in 2007 a second place in the Turin Marathon and a fifth in the Gyeongju International Marathon .

In 2008 he was sixth in the Madrid Marathon , and in 2009 fourth in the Maratona di Sant'Antonio and the Košice Marathon .

At the Hanover Marathon 2010 he set a course record of 2:08:55 h and improved his personal record by almost two minutes. In the same year he won the Taipei International Marathon . In 2011 he won the Daegu Marathon in a track record time of 2:08:08 h.
