Zachary "Zach" Hall (born January 30, 1984 in Nikiski , Alaska ) is an American biathlete .
Zach Hall studied at Dartmouth College , graduated with a BA in Psychology and Brain Research in 2007 and starts for the Dartmouth Ski Team . He now lives in Lake Placid and has been training with Gary Colliander at the Olympic Training Center there since completing his studies . Hall has been part of the US biathlete B team since the 2008/09 season and started the IBU Cup in Altenberg for the first time in 2009 , where he was 79th of the individual. Further races with results up to just before the top 60 followed. Most of the time, however, Hall competes in races in North America, such as the Biathlon NorAm Cup . In the 2007/08 season he reached a podium finish in Jericho as third. Another five podium places, including three second places, followed in the season. In the overall standings, Hall finished second behind Jesse Downs . The following season Hall won his first NorAm Cup race in Itasca . At the US championships in 2009 he was third in the sprint. In the 2009/10 season he was able to win points in the IBU Cup for the first time in Nové Město na Moravě as 36th of an individual and 29th of the sprint. A little later, Hall made his debut in the biathlon world cup . In Antholz he finished 85th in the individual and 96th in the sprint. The high point of the season was the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , where the American finished 46th in the individual, 38th in the sprint, 48th in the pursuit and 12th in the relay with Wynn Roberts , Casey Simons and Leif Nordgren . Hall also started regularly internationally in the 2010/11 season . After appearances mostly in the IBU Cup, he was used again in the World Cup in a sprint race in Presque Isle and improved his best performance as 70th.
In addition to biathlon, Hall also ran cross-country skiing and has sporadically participated in international and national competitions since 2004, but without achieving any notable placements. He is in a relationship with Sara Studebaker .
