Wynn Roberts (born March 1, 1988 in Battle Lake ) is an American biathlete .

Wynn Roberts is the oldest of three siblings and lives in his native Battle Lake. At the age of nine he first started cross-country skiing , at 12 he also started biathlon. He starts for the Mt Itasca Winter Sports Center and Minnesota State University . In 2006 he first took part in the Junior World Championships in Presque Isle . Roberts finished 41st in the individual, 14th in the sprint and 15 in the pursuit race and was 12th with Mark Johnson and Russell Currier and thus last in the relay race. First races in the Junior European Cup, the later IBU Cup , followed in 2007. In the same year he was 45th in the sprint, 39th in individual and pursuit and again 12th in the relay with Leif Nordgren and at the Junior World Championships in Martell Justin Tyner. He started for the third time in 2008 in Ruhpolding at a Junior World Championship and finished 62nd in the individual, 23rd in the sprint, 38th in the pursuit and ninth in the relay race with Johnson, Currier and Nordgren. At the Junior European Championship of the same year in Nové Město na Moravě he reached the ranks 20 in the individual, 27 in the sprint and 23 in the pursuit. Roberts played his fourth and final World Cup in 2009 in Canmore . In the individual he reached rank 31, in the sprint he was 15th and 30th in the pursuit race. At the North American Biathlon Championships in 2009 in Valcartier , he won the individual title, in the sprint he was second behind Nordgren, with whom he also won the mixed title together with Grace Boutot .

Roberts started in 2008 in the performance area. He contested his first internationally important races in 2008 as part of the IBU Cup in Obertilliach . In 2009 he made his biathlon world cup debut at the pre-Olympic test world cup in Vancouver and reached 89th place in the individual. At the US Roll-Ski Biathlon Championships in Jericho in 2009 , he won silver in the sprint competition behind Lowell Bailey, and fell back to eleventh place in the pursuit race. For the 2009/10 season Roberts moved up to the A (A3) national team of the USA, but had to vacate his place at the beginning of the season for Kevin Patzoldt , who was stronger at the time . But before the Olympic Winter Games , Roberts was able to regain his place and take part in the games as the fifth starter for the USA alongside the established Jeremy Teela , Jay Hakkinen , Jeremy Teela and Bailey. He was used in the individual and was there 93rd. The best result in the World Cup so far is a 77th place in an individual in Antholz. Finally, he took part in the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , where he reached positions 45 in the individual, 51 in the sprint, 49 in the pursuit and with Zach Hall , Casey Simons and Nordgren 12 in the relay race. In the 2009/10 Biathlon NorAm Cup he achieved podium finishes for the first time in the season. Roberts finished seventh in the overall standings. At the North American Biathlon Championships in 2010 and the US Championships held at the same time in Fort Kent , he won the title in the pursuit race. In the sprint and the North American championship classification of the mass start, he finished sixth, in the classification of the US championship fifth.
