The Zechenbahn Lohberg was a 1906-1912 built carbon track ( works railway ), the Lohberg in Dinslaken on the Duisburg districts Wehofen and Walsum with sister mines, the mine Wehofen and mine Neumühl , the bill Friedrich Thyssen and with the steel works in Duisburg Hamborn connected.

history

The railway line was operated by Eisenbahn und Häfen , a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp , until the Lohberger colliery was closed and it served to open up the northern part of the coal area on the right bank of the Rhine.

The track systems on the route have now been dismantled. The existing embankment , which runs in a north-south direction, divides the Dinslaken urban area into Dinslaken-Mitte and the district of Hiesfeld . The Dinslaken – Mitte industrial park borders the route at the level of the L 462. It runs along the embankment and is free of intersections except for two level crossings , at the level of the Wehofener Halde and at the level of Fliehburg , and it crosses the Emscher in front of the Wehofener Halde site . The embankment was designed in such a way that the line to Lohberg could also be expanded to two tracks. It actually had two tracks from the Fliehburg junction to Hamborn and was electrified throughout as far as Lohberg .

A connecting route led from Wehofen in the direction of the Walsum colliery and the Walsum northern port and was also connected to the Walsumbahn . From Wehofen led the A59 along and crossed there the L 155 and the route of the former HOAG - works railway .

The railway was connected via the Fliehburg junction with the old rolling mill , which later became the Mannesmann factory , and connected to the Oberhausen-Arnheim route at the level of the Dinslaken train station .

Since the landfill site of the Wehofener Halde is to be expanded by the section on the north side under the name Wehofen-Nord as the third construction phase, the railway line that leads from the former Lohberg mine to ThyssenKrupp and is still included in the regional plan should be reactivated be led through a tunnel through the landfill, which is to be built before the filling or afterwards.

Due to the planned expansion of the Betuwelinie and the reconstruction of the connecting line Zevenaar – Oberhausen , the superstructure of the bridge over the above-mentioned railway line and the abutments that stand in the way of the expansion of the Betuwelinie were demolished.
