Cell type markers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A lineage markers , and cell lineage markers ( English cell lineage markers ) or differentiation markers , is an a cell type characteristic molecule, z. B. a surface antigen , an mRNA or a protein in a cell .

properties

Cell type markers are used in biochemistry and cell biology as biomarkers to determine the cell type and cell origin . With the help of antibodies against the surface antigens, cells with certain cell type markers can be detected in the course of immune staining , e.g. B. by flow cytometry , immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence . Individual cell types can also be enriched with antibodies against the surface antigens, e.g. B. via FACS or via MACS .

Human cell type markers

Cell type markers of humans on the cell surface are z. B. CD3 on T lymphocytes , CD14 on monocytes , CD16 and CD56 on NK cells and granulocytes , CD19 and CD20 on B lymphocytes . They are partly depending on the developmental stage of a cell type and are only in some stages expressed . Cell type markers for embryonic stem cells are e.g. B. Nanog , Oct-4 , Sox-2 , Rex-1, Dnmt3b, Lin-28 , Tdgf1, FoxD3, Tert , Utf-1, Gal, Cx43, Gdf3, Gtcm1, Terf1, Terf2, Lefty A and Lefty B, in contrast, cell type markers for mesenchymal stem cells , e.g. B. CD13 , CD29 , CD44 , CD49e , CD54 , CD71 , CD73 , CD90 , CD105 , CD106 , CD166 and HLA-ABC .
