The Central Office for Further Education in the Crafts Association (ZWH), based in Düsseldorf, is a nationwide service facility for all craft training institutions. It was founded in 1997 as an association and is supported by 50 German Chambers of Crafts and the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH) as well as the Working Group of the Chambers of Crafts in Baden-Württemberg and the West German Chamber of Crafts (WHKT), which is why the ZWH Board of Directors from 2003 to 2015 also the WHKT Managing Director Reiner Nolten, who died in 2018, was a member. Before 1997, the central office for further training in the craft was a department of the West German Chamber of Crafts.

tasks

The ZWH is a central service facility for all craft training institutions and promotes professional qualification in the craft by developing, disseminating and implementing training, further education and training concepts. The ZWH prepares educational needs analyzes and course concepts, carries out educational projects on behalf of the public, writes training documents, trains trainers, lecturers and examiners and sells course documents for training and further education. Further fields of activity are the transfer of project results and the organization of events for clients from the education sector. On behalf of the EU as well as federal and state ministries, the ZWH carries out national and international projects on labor market and educational policy issues.

In addition to the areas of course development, testing and quality assurance, the area of ​​new media and e-learning is another focus of the ZWH's work. The ZWH has been developing and providing e-learning offers since 1999. Together with 42 chambers of crafts and other players in the education sector, online qualifications, learning platforms, online conference systems and PC-based exams are being developed and made available for training centers and chambers of crafts. The ZWH also operates the Q-Online craft community.

Projects

ZWH projects include:

  • Vocational training without borders - mobility advice in the chambers

The project aims to support trainees and young skilled workers with an internship abroad and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the European Social Fund (ESF).

  • Network integration through qualification (IQ)

The network wants to improve the labor market chances of migrants in Germany. It goes back to the National Integration Plan and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Employment Agency .

  • JOBSTARTER - Regional Office West

THE JOBSTARTER regional office West supports projects in its target regions of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. The program aims to find new training positions and solutions for current challenges on the training market and in training. The program is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF); The partner is the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).

Seminar offer

To support the trade organization, the ZWH also offers seminars that are held as open seminars and also as in-house seminars. The range of seminars is divided into seven subject areas:

Educational conference

The ZWH has organized the ZWH Education Conference every year since 1999. The education conference took place for the 20th time in 2018 and is one of the largest industry get-togethers for those responsible for education.

Board

The board of directors is at the head of the central office for further training in the craft sector. It consists of the chairman, a deputy chairman, three other board members and the managing director. The board is elected by the general assembly.
