Zhang Qing ( Chinese  张庆 ; born April 7, 1979 in Liaoning ) is a Chinese biathlete .

The student from Dalian started biathlon in 1994 . He has been part of the Chinese national team since 2000. Like all Chinese athletes, he is trained by Klaus Siebert . He made his debut in the biathlon world cup in 1998 in an individual (84th) in Hochfilzen . After a few races he was regularly used in the World Cup from 2001. He has rarely achieved good placements. For the first time he was able to run in the sprint in Hochfilzen in 2006 as 20th in the points. Things went even better for him in 2007 at Holmenkollen in Oslo , where he finished 18th in an individual. It was also his best World Cup result. Zhang's performances at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City all ended in results between the 50th and 60th place. The appearances at the World Championships at Holmenkollen 2000, Oberhof 2004 and Antholz 2007 never ended better than with a 55th place. Nevertheless, he was able to achieve an outstanding result in the mixed relay in Antholz in seventh place. Zhang also achieved quite good results at the 2009 Biathlon World Championships in Pyeongchang , where he was 34th in the sprint and 37th in the pursuit. Since then it has not been used internationally.

Zhang was particularly successful at the Winter Asian Games . In 1999 he won gold medals in the individual and sprint in Gangwon-do, in 2003 in Aomori with Qiu Lianhai , Zhang Hongjun and Wang Xin relay bronze and in 2007 in Changchun with Ren Long , Zhang Chengye and Tian Ye relay gold as well as silver in individual and bronze in sprint races .
