Zoot Allures is an album by Frank Zappa that was first released in 1976. It was Zappa's only album that was released on Warner Bros. Records. Because of a lawsuit with his former manager Herb Cohen , his contract with DiscReet Records was temporarily transferred to Warner Bros. The title is a play on the French term Zut alors! (analogous translation: “What a bummer!”).

The album was originally planned as a double LP. For unknown reasons, Zappa rearranged the album and shortened the list of tracks it contains. A test press of the album published for Circus magazine contained a different track list with the tracks Sleep Dirt , The Ocean Is the Ultimate Solution , Filthy Habits and Night of the Iron Sausage , but without Wind Up Workin 'in a Gas Station and Zoot Allures . The pieces Zoot Allures , The Torture Never Stops and Black Napkins later became characteristic pieces in Zappa's live repertoire.

Wonderful Wino was first released on the 1970 Jeff Simmons LP, Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up .
