The single Valley Girl , on which Zappa's daughter Moon imitatesthe slang of young people in the San Fernando Valley in north Los Angeles ( Valleyspeak ), was a great success. The introduced slang or dialect of the San Fernando Valley had a lasting impact on English at least in southern California through this song.
