Baby Snakes (dt. Baby Snakes ) is the soundtrack of the film of the same name by Frank Zappa , the 1983 as a picture disc appeared. The recordings are from concerts at the Palladium , a rock concert hall in New York , which were recorded for Halloween between October 28 and 31, 1977. The title Punky's Whips officially appeared on the record for the first time. It describes the fictional latent homoerotic feelings that drummer Terry Bozzio feels when looking at a promotional photograph of the lead singer of the band Angel , Punky Meadows. The release of this piece was actually planned for the album Zappa in New York (1976), but was taken offthe album at short noticedue to legal concerns on the part of the record company Warner Brothers . On that record was the track Titties & Beer , whichis supplemented by a swipe at Baby Snakes on this same company.

reception

Mike Fish thought Baby Snakes was "wonderful material, recorded with maximum energy". Ben Watson found it “uplifting” to listen to Warner Brothers being insulted as a big entertainment company in front of a big rock audience in the play Titties & Beer .
