Zurab Zurabishvili

Zurab Zurabishvili (born September 1, 1973 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ) is a Georgian opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Zurabishvili studied from 1988 at the Tbilisi Conservatory with Ana Chikhradze and at the age of 21 continued his studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Martha Sharp and finished it in 2002. Masterclasses with Bernd Weikl and Sherrill Milnes and further studies with Riccardo Lombardi and Hanna Ludwig rounded off his education.

In 2003 he made his debut at the Augsburg Theater , then from 2006 to 2010 at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and then until 2013 a member of the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen. Since then he has been a guest internationally.

Zurabishvili not only appears in the Italian and French repertoire, but is also a specialist in modern roles ( Mieczysław Weinberg : The Idiot , Prince Myshkin), Russian opera ( Prokofiev's The Player ) and Wagner roles.
