action

The young American and GI Evan Bonner deserted during the Vietnam War and made his way to Morocco after a long odyssey via Bangkok, Moscow and Sweden. In Marrakech he tries to find himself and his inner calm again. Eventually Evan decides to end his longtime escape and return to the United States. There he wants to face a US military tribunal.

On the journey home from North Africa to Western Europe, he meets the beautiful, melancholy photo model Deirdre McCluskey, who like him is a seeker. If the first feelings of friendship arise while strolling during a stopover in Casablanca , Evan and Deirdre have already become a couple on arrival in Paris and confess their love to each other. Deirdre is now trying to change Evan's mind and prevent him from returning to the United States. She doesn't want to lose him again, whom she has just won for herself, because a long prison sentence awaits him at home ...
