Well known in the district for its Roman dam, its two natural lagoons, his pilgrimage, today one of the largest in the province of Badajoz and its holy week, in which all its inhabitants come to the cathedral to witness the Mass. All its inhabitants, are launched into the streets to: a) parade, the costaleros that secure passage of its patron saint, the Virgin of Health, b) To play: musicians, playing a piece of music over the Spanish anthem. They also mounted a small show for the little ones, and many tents, where you can eat so much as to dance.


Origin of name [edit] The name Esparragalejo reason is very simple. At the founding of the village is given as a communal pasture, also call themselves or Boyal, the pastureland of Esparragal. Esparragal primitive is the name of the place. But to be small neighborhood and remain so for many years, was added to the name a diminutive suffix. From Esparragal thus became Esparragalejo.
