==Maine==
Hey I noticed you did some cleanup on the few Maine Highways that have articles. I have a question that maybe you could help with. Is it "State Route X" or just "Route X" in Maine. I moved them to State Route months ago however I'm starting to think that may have been an error. I've searched high and low on the MDOT site and Google and so far it seems "Route X" is more accurate. I get just shy of 3 million hits for Route X vs 2.2 mil for State Route X. Also both the Maine court system and DOT seem to favor Route X. Any thoughts? [[User:Gateman1997|Gateman1997]] 17:07, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

What I found matches SPUI's conclusion that "State Route" is correct.

etc. Also, in the charts being linked to, the abbreviation "SR" is consistantly used:

:Ah ok cool. It looks like the DOT uses both then. Guess they're not really caring which is used so I'm fine with them as is as the current names are a bit more descriptive. I believe one of those links I actually used as rationale for moving them to State Route in the first place now that I think about it. [[User:Gateman1997|Gateman1997]] 17:18, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

:Second question. Any idea how we can find the length of Route 9A? I for the life of me can't find any info on how long it is. However 289 miles is definitely longer then the distance between Wells and Kennebunk (unless 9A has the most switchbacks in history ;) ). [[User:Gateman1997|Gateman1997]] 17:18, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

I guess I can understand why you would go ahead and close the AfD even though there was still debate, due to time constraints, but the "all talk and no consensus" kind of sounds a bit snarky (but ye, I see your point). What would you suggest be done to allow the debate to continue? [[User:Youngamerican| ''<font color="blue">young</font>''<font color="#CFB53B">american</font>]] <small>([[User talk:Youngamerican|talk]])</small> 23:04, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
:Followup: I took it over to deletion review to ask for some more time. As I noted there, I fully believe that you acted in good faith, but I respectfully disagree about the ability to reach consensus. Cheers. ::::Thanks. Despite being an inclusionist on individual [[shopping mall]]s, I was getting burnt out with putting effort into these AfDs and not getting a result either way. I had some unrealistic optimism there earlier today and kind of felt it pissed away when, as you correctly stated, it was headed to another noncon. I think I am just going to step away from the whole debate and go back to content adding for a while. Thanks for bitchslapping me back to reality :) I withdrew the DRV, too, as it not the right action to take. OK, off to copyedit something. Cheers. I'm on the point of RfCing about your repeated incivility to editors who don't deserve it. You know very well that the article redirects nowhere at all during the RfD, and you know very well that you should not be closing it early when the comments are to delete. You know very well that you should not have started, and that you should stop. You also know very well that there is no need to accuse me of spite and asshattery along the way. ::Closing a debate, repeatedly, when you've seen it reversed once already is entirely rollbackable. It was certainly not an edit made in goodfaith, easily determinable from the edit summary utilised, and anyone - anon or not - closing a debate in that manner would be likely to get rolled back by anyone. -[[User:Splash|Splash]] - [[User talk:Splash|tk]] 17:21, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

:::::I don't know about that. RFD has become a progressively greater [[timesink]], ever since the colorful templates and section headings and archival directories were added. There's currently some discussion about whether and how to set up [a] US wikimedia chapter[s]; among other things this could help better organize meetups and gatherings at large events and cons. I'm trying to notify people who have been involved in local meetups; if you are interested, see the [http://mail.wikipedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimediaus-l mailing-list] and [[m:Wikimedia United States of America|meta-page]] on the topic. Hello,
== [[Mathematical logic glossary]] ==
thank you for explaining clearly why the article was not good enough to be on wikipedia. Would it be ok after a while when we become a more notable band? They are planning to contribute to different charity groups, and it is a non-profit organization. I personally think that it is already a notable band, they already have collected money to contribute to the UNICEF fund. I am hoping to be able to post the article again in the near future, after they have become more 'notable' <small>—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Kagesou|Kagesou]] ([[User talk:Kagesou|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Kagesou|contribs]]) 03:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

== Re: His Holiness Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi ==
If Hugh Everett's theory was just another interpretation of Quantum Mechanics it would have no followers, especially since it proposes the existence of countless other universes which theoretically can never be observed. Because it is not falsifiable it seemingly violates Popper's criteria for a good scientific theory. The reason it has so many adherents is because it offers numerous advantages over the Copenhagen Interpretation, among which are the following:

Hello, basically we are working in USA and UK with this spiritual personality and we have somewhat different point of thought, what has been put on the other page that you are pointing to, so it makes it necessary for us to let our opinion deliver to the world. Thanks.
1. Quantum mechanics becomes a deterministic theory making it more compatible with the theory of relativity and all other physics theory to date which are all deterministic. The Copenhagen Interpretation introduced indeterminacy and randomness into science. Aside from the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics there is no scientific theory that includes indeterminacy or randomness. Einstein particularly objected to this aspect of the Copenhagen Interpretation. In response to it, he said, "God does not play dice with the universe."

If this title is causing confusion, we can change it but can we have right to tell the world what is the exact truth . For any kind of clarification I can be reached at 001-571-4352284 [[User:Kamranhg|Kamranhg]] ([[User talk:Kamranhg|talk]]) 00:30, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

3. It eliminates Von Neumann's "boundary problem": where to draw the line between the micro world where quantum mechanics applies, and the macro world where it does not. Shortly before his death in 1953, Albert Einstein wrote: "Like the moon has a definite position whether or not we look at the moon, the same must also hold for the atomic objects, as there is no sharp distinction possible between these and macroscopic objects."

5. It restores objective reality of the universe between measurements. Shortly before his death, Albert Einstein also wrote: "Observation cannot CREATE an element of reality like a position, there must be something contained in the complete description of physical reality which corresponds to the possibility of observing a position, already before the observation has been actually made."

It seems Einstein's main objections with quantum mechanics had more to do with the Copenhagen Interpretation, than with quantum mechanics itself. While MWI does not quite generate the kinds of worlds necessary to justify the anthropic principle, it is a step on the way to Stephen Hawking's No Boundary Proposal and Max Tegmark's All Universe Hypothesis which do justify the anthropic principle.

== Page moves ==
Sorry about the cut-and-paste page moves. I didn't realize that it was illegal. The times that I've requested moves via admins or the noticeboard it has taken an inordinately long time so I figured that I would speed up the process. If it's a real problem, the solution would be to cut and paste everything in return, and then you (or another admin) can move them back properly. --[[User:DLand|DLand]][[User talk:DLand|<font color = "green"><small>TALK]]</small></font> 19:02, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

== Something wrong with AfD Yesterday page ==

Don't know if these two things are related, in the [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/Yesterday]] page, there is no '''<nowiki>[edit]</nowiki>''' link to the right of each title, and there is a stray '''<nowiki>2006 June 18}}</nowiki>''' at the bottom of the article list. == re: the Be bold redirect ==

Good evening. I've requested a review of the RFD discussion on [[be bold]]. If you have a minute, I think the [[Wikipedia:Deletion Review#Be bold|discussion]] would benefit from your input. Thanks.

By the way, thank you for providing the link directly to the RFD discussion when you reverted the change yesterday. I was wondering from the page's history whether or not this had been discussed somewhere but couldn't find it myself. A case of hiding in plain sight, I'm afraid. Thanks again. ==Wii refs section==
Huh? I never said anything about there being too many refs (though it is quite a large list) as my reasoning for moving it to the bottom. According to [[Wikipedia:Citing sources]] here: [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citing_sources#Complete_citations_in_a_.22References.22_section], the refs should go at the bottom. Even common sense and simple asthetics dictate their movement to the end (we should have to scroll past a huge list of refs to get to the external links?) Is there some other rule/guidline I'm missing? I do agree that the other info boxes are... haphazard at best. I was planning on streamlining/formatting them or removing some altogether after I fixed the refs section. But if you could enlighten me to the reasoning behind ''not'' putting refs at the bottom, I would appreciate it. [[User:Dannybu2001|Danny]] 22:18, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citing_sources#Further_reading.2Fexternal_links
:''An ==External links== or ==Further reading== section is placed at the end of an article '''after the References section''', and offers books, articles, and links to websites related to the topic that might be of interest to the reader, but which have not been used as sources for the article. Although this section has traditionally been called "external links," editors are increasingly calling it "further reading," because the references section may also contain external links, and the further-reading section may contain items that are not online.''

::Thanks! I didn't see that, I only ever looked up where the refs section was to go, not where it goes in relation to external links. They both say "at the end of the article", though, so perhaps it shold be fixed since they can't ''both'' go at the end of the article? [[User:Dannybu2001|Danny]] 22:28, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

== Questions regarding the article I posted ==

Hi,
Quick question, I have added some citations now, one is a government webpage and another Windows Vista Magazine which published 3 pages on this school. Let me know if this sufficient. This school has trained over 163,242 students and trains over 50 driving instructors every year. We do have articles on culinary schools and even articles on private schools on wikipedia, driving schools should also be given a chance. Let me know if my explanation makes sense. If not, tell me how I can improve my message.

Thanks!

Just so you know, sir, on that wikiproject page, you are now listed under the heading of "Inactive or vandalism only accounts" - which I think possibly is an unnecessarily negative way to label someone who is simply no longer participating. You're kind of lumped in with "vandalism only accounts" if you dare to be inactive.

Maybe you could just delete your name from there altogether, or ask them to delete it? Anyway, just a heads up, this can be an ugly website. [[Special:Contributions/70.100.83.62|70.100.83.62]] ([[User talk:70.100.83.62|talk]]) 17:03, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

== Deletion of Article: Ivanhoe's Restaurant ==

I would like to discuss the article discussion. I know this is old news, but frankly I don't visit Wikipedia to edit all that often.

Yes, Ivanhoe's is a commercial establishment. It is also a "hangout" near to a college which is over 100 years old. For many decades Ivanhoe's has been a place students and alums of this college gather and remember fondly. Anyone researching the local area, this college or similar establishments would consider the article on this restaurant "encyclopedia worthy."

Although I am only a small scale Wikipedia contributor, I would appreciate your assistance in getting better. Please offer guidance on how the article could be improved to meet the criteria of acceptability. Also, if possible, please send me a copy of the deleted article.

Thanks,

==Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity==
{{ {{#ifeq:|{{void}}|void|Error:must be substituted}}|Inactive admin}}
[[Image:Information.svg|25px|alt=|link=]]
Following a [[Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/suspend sysop rights of inactive admins|community discussion]] in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the [[Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard]] and the userright will be restored per the [[Wikipedia:Bureaucrats#Resysopping|re-sysopping process]] (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. <!-- Template:Inactive admin -->[[User:RL0919|RL0919]] ([[User talk:RL0919|talk]]) 21:24, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a [[Wikipedia_talk:Administrators#Restoration_of_the_tools_.28proposal.29|recent change]] to the [[WP:ADMIN|administrator policy]] that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. Hi, I just want to let you know that I'm not erasing any data in Per's article. I am just adding it into the music section. As you can Coastal or Andean music are sub topics of Peruvian Music, so it's unnecesary to have them separate, while we can use all that space to put any other category that can be more relevant and useful. The goal is to improve this article by the end of May so that it can be nominated for Featured Article status. Speedy deletion of 'FouRever'[edit]

Hello, thank you for explaining clearly why the article was not good enough to be on wikipedia. Would it be ok after a while when we become a more notable band? They are planning to contribute to different charity groups, and it is a non-profit organization. I personally think that it is already a notable band, they already have collected money to contribute to the UNICEF fund. I am hoping to be able to post the article again in the near future, after they have become more 'notable' —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kagesou (talkcontribs) 03:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Virgin Killer.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Virgin Killer.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:11, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Fritz bot has been approved at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/FritzpollBot for filling in a possible 1.8 million articles on settlements across the world. Now dabbing needs to be done for links which aren't sorted as the bot will bypass any blue links. and I need as many people as possible to help me with Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Places to prepare for the bot. If you could tackle a page or two everything counts as it will be hard to do it alone. PLease also pass on the message to anybody else who you may think might be willing to help. Thankyou ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:22, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions regarding the article I posted[edit]

Hi, Quick question, I have added some citations now, one is a government webpage and another Windows Vista Magazine which published 3 pages on this school.

Thanks!

I am here to inform you that this WikiProject is having a callout. If you do not respond in one week after this message, we will automatically move you to the "Inactive list". Thank you for your time and co-operation. -- SRE.K.Annoyomous.L.24[c] 23:59, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

70.100.83.62 (talk) 17:03, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Article: Ivanhoe's Restaurant[edit]

Thanks,

Hello Freakofnurture! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 936 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Happy Birthday![edit]

The article Shaun Thomson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Simply non-notable per WP:GNG. 70-odd ["shaun thomson" "food junkie" -wiki -facebook -twitter -linkedin Google hits] after removing social networks etc, but this still includes Amazon, his own website ...

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sitush (talk) 07:54, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Notice of change[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
