(11351) Leucus is an asteroid belonging to the group of Jupiter Trojans . This describes asteroids that orbit the sun on the Lagrange points on the orbit of the planet Jupiter . It is assigned to the Lagrange point L 4 , that is (11351) Leucus is running 60 ° ahead of Jupiter in its orbit around the sun.
It was discovered by the Beijing Schmidt CCD Asteroid Program at Xinglong Station in Hebei Province, China on October 12, 1997.
On February 22, 2016, he was named after Leucus, a character from Homer's Iliad . Leucus was an Achaean warrior and companion of Odysseus . In April 2028, the room sound Lucy is supposed to fly past Leucus.
