(2739) Taguacipa ( 1952 UZ 1 ; 1951 KJ ; 1959 NH ) is an approximately eleven kilometers large asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on October 17, 1952 by the American astronomer Joseph Brady at the Mount Wilson Observatory on Mount Wilson in discovered in the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles in California in the United States ( IAU code 672).

designation

(2739) Taguacipa was named after Taguacipa , the great deceiver in Inca mythology . He is the evil doppelganger of the creator Wiraqucha , after whom the asteroid (2738) Viracocha is named.
