(2887) Krinov ( 1977 QD 5 ; 1936 ML ; 1939 FW ; 1980 KC 2 ; 1980 MG ; 1983 DH ) is an approximately six kilometers large asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on August 22, 1977 by the Russian (then: Soviet Union ) astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory (Nautschnyj branch) on the Crimean peninsula ( IAU code 095).

designation

(2887) Krinov was named after the Soviet meteoritist Evgeny Leonidowitsch Krinow (1906-1984), who had received the Leonard Medal of the Meteoritical Society .
