(3029) Sanders ( 1981 EA 8 ; 1927 BP ; 1944 DD ; 1948 MG ; 1951 JG ; 1973 YA 4 ; 1974 CH ) is an approximately six kilometers large asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on March 1, 1981 by the American astronomer Scolding John Bus was discovered at the Siding Spring Observatory near Coonabarabran , New South Wales in Australia ( IAU code 260).

(3029) Sanders is named after Jeffrey D. Sanders , who participated in the Planet-Crossing Asteroid Survey as a student at the California Institute of Technology .
