(343000) Ijontichy is an asteroid of the outer main belt , which was discovered on January 29, 2009 by the German astronomers Erwin Schwab and Ute Zimmer at the 60 cm Cassegrain telescope of the Hans Ludwig Neumann observatory on the Kleine Feldberg ( IAU code B01) was discovered.
Mean distance from the Sun ( major semiaxis ), eccentricity and inclination of the orbit plane of the asteroid roughly correspond to the Eos family , a group of asteroids that typically have large semiaxes of 2.95 to 3.1 AU , bounded inward by the Kirkwood gap of 7: 3-resonance with Jupiter , as well as orbital inclinations between 8 ° and 12 °. The group is named after the asteroid (221) Eos . The family is believed to have emerged from a collision more than a billion years ago.
At the time of its discovery, on the night of January 29th to 30th, 2009, (343000) Ijontichy was about 300 million kilometers away, at the closest point of its orbit, and had an apparent magnitude of only 19.5 mag.
The asteroid is after the German science fiction - television series Ijon Tichy: Space Pilot named. The satirical television series is based on a free adaptation of the story collection Star Diaries by Stanisław Lem . The fictional space pilot Ijon Tichy is played by Oliver Jahn . The asteroid was named on September 19, 2013. Another asteroid named after the television series is the asteroid of the middle main belt (343444) Hallucinelle , which is named after a holographic character played by Nora Tschirner . The asteroid of the inner main belt (3836) Lem was named after Stanisław Lem as early as 1992 .
