Åseral is a Norwegian municipality in Fylke Agder .

Åseral is bordered to the east by Bygland and Evje og Hornnes , which until 2020 were in the province of Aust-Agder , to which Åseral belonged until the late 19th century. In the south it borders on the municipality of Audnedal , in the southeast on Hægebostad , in the west on Kvinesdal .

The municipality is a well-known tourist destination with three ski resorts : Bortelid , Ljosland and Eikerapen . Eikerapen also hosts the Eikerapen Roots Festival every year , an international music festival with thousands of guests from all over Europe.
