Érick Germáin Aguirre Tafolla (born February 23, 1997 in Felipe Carrillo Puerto , Michoacán ) is a Mexican football player who has been under contract with the first division club CF Pachuca since July 2016 . The left full-back has been a Mexican international since September 2018 .

Born in Felipe Carrillo Puerto , Michoacán , Érick Aguirre comes from the youth academy of Monarcas Morelia and was promoted to the first team for the 2014/15 season . He made his debut on August 6, 2014 in a 1-1 draw in the Copa MX against Club Necaxa , when he came on for Luis Fernando Silva in the 69th minute . On August 28, 2014, he scored his first two goals for Monarcas in the 3-0 cup win against Celaya FC . In the Apertura 2014 he established himself as a regular player in the defensive midfield . In the 2015 Clausura he slipped out of this again and played a total of 17 league games in this 2014/15 season, in which he scored two goals. It was not until the Clausura 2016 that he made it back to the starting line-up and concluded the 2015/16 season with 20 league appearances. He was increasingly found in full defense .

On June 8, 2016, Érick Aguirre moved to league rivals CF Pachuca . He made his debut on July 17, 2016 (1st matchday of Apertura) in a 5-1 home win against Club León , when he was exchanged for Rodolfo Pizarro in the 74th minute of the game . He established himself as a regular player and scored his first goal on August 24, 2016 in a 3-0 home win against Police United in the CONCACAF Champions League . He played 25 league games in the 2016/17 season and won the Champions League with the Tuzos in two games against the UANL Tigres . In Apertura 2017 he slipped again from the starting line-up and made the jump back into the regular formation of head coach Diego Alonso in Clausura 2018 . On January 21, 2018 (3rd matchday of Clausura) he scored for the Tuzos for the first time in the Liga MX in a 3-1 home win against Lobos de la BUAP . In total, he completed 28 league games in the season, in which he scored two goals and prepared three more goals. In the next 2018/19 season , he played 28 league games in which he collected three goals. In the following 2019/20 season , he played 27 league games in which he scored one goal and three assists.

National team

With the Mexican U17 national team , Érick Aguirre took part in the 2013 CONCACAF U17 Championship in Panama and won it with the selection. In the same year he was in the squad of the Mexican U17 national team for the U17 World Cup in 2013 in the United Arab Emirates . There he made six appearances and lost 3-0 to Nigeria with El Tri in the final .

In January 2015 he took part with the U20 in the CONCACAF U20 Championship 2015 in Jamaica . There he was in all six games of the selection and won the final on penalties against Panama , in which Aguirre used his penalty. In May of the same year he was called up to the squad for the 2015 U20 World Cup in New Zealand . There he played all three of the team's games in the group stage.

In October 2015 he was involved in qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games for the U23 . In June 2019, he completed four friendly international matches for the U22 .

He made his debut for the senior team on September 12, 2018 in a 1-0 defeat against the United States .
