The Austrian State Championship three-cushion 2013 was the 70th edition of this three-cushion tournament and took place from 16. – 20. January 2013 at Cafe Schwarz in Vienna , Austria . The organizer was the BSK Leopoldstadt. The state championship was held for the first time in 1932.

description

The defending champion was Andreas Kronlachner , who won the tournament in 2005 and 2008. In the semifinals this time, however, he was very tightly defeated by Arnim Kahofer with 39:40 and was third together with Georg Schmied. It was won by Andreas Efler , who was able to prevail in the final with 40:29 against Arnim Kahofer.

The oldest participant in the tournament was multiple runner-up Heinrich Weingartner (73), followed by veteran Franz Stenzel (71), who won the tournament in 1984, 1989, 1991 and 1996.

mode

Since 2013, the game has no longer been played in set mode, but, as in many other tournaments, at a distance. This is 40 points during the entire tournament  and an admission limit of 50 HAZ (maximum number of admissions). The 16 participants played in four groups (A – D) of four players each in round robin mode. The first two in the group qualified for the finals. The game for third place did not take place, both losers in the semi-finals received a bronze medal.
