Ýmir Örn Gíslason (born July 1, 1997 in Reykjavik ) is an Icelandic handball player .

Career

Ýmir Örn Gíslason played for Valur Reykjavík from 2014 to 2020 . With this club he was Icelandic champion in 2017 as well as Icelandic cup winner in 2016 and 2017.

On February 6, 2020 he moved to the German Bundesliga club Rhein-Neckar Löwen , with whom he signed a contract until June 2022.

Ýmir Örn was initially a member of the Icelandic youth and junior national team. He won the bronze medal at the U-19 World Cup in 2015 . He is now a member of the Icelandic national team and took part in the 2018 European Championship , 2019 World Cup and 2020 European Championship .
