Albin Lagergren (born September 11, 1992 in Varberg ) is a Swedish handball player .

Career

Albin Lagergren started playing handball in his hometown near HK Varberg. After the backcourt player ran up for Redbergslids IK in the 2011/12 season, he returned to Varberg. In the summer of 2013, Lagergren moved to the Swedish first division club IFK Kristianstad . With Kristianstad he won the Swedish championship in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. From the 2018/19 season he was under contract with the German Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg . In summer 2020 he switched to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen .

Lagergren won the 2013 U-21 World Championship with the Swedish junior selection . He has been a member of the Swedish national team since 2016 . After Johan Jakobsson was injured at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he moved up to the Swedish squad. At the 2017 World Cup , he scored 24 goals in 7 games. With Sweden he took part in the 2018 European Championships . After completing the main round, the tournament was over for him due to a concussion  .
