The Łupow is designated as a special "Natura 2000" protected area of the European Union . It is an attractive route for canoeing.

'Rowe Painter's Colony'

The German painter Max Pechstein spent every summer in Rowe from 1927 to 1944 and gathered artist friends who tried to capture the various atmospheric images in the picturesque dune and coastal landscape of the Lupow estuary in their works. The circle of artists also included Otto Priebe († 1945 in Stolp ) and Walter Zuchors (1870–1947).

The preserved works with motifs from this coastal region include z. B. Max Pechstein's Lupow estuary 1927, oil on canvas, 51 × 59.5 cm, and Walter Zuchors' Dunes near Leba , 1942, oil on canvas, 80 × 58 cm.
